About us

A farm the family still lives on, works and eats from

Who we are, how we work and why this farm is set up the way it is.

How we got here

Stage 1

Planted

Seed goes in from March under cover and April in the field, on a rotation planned the winter before.

Stage 2

Tended

Weeded, watered and watched. Pasture is rotated so the hens and cattle keep the grass healthy.

Stage 3

Picked

Every stand day starts before dawn in the field. Boxes are packed by mid-morning.

Stage 4

Sold at the gate

The stand, the weekly box and the pick-your-own fields. Nothing leaves in a truck to a warehouse.

A farm the family still lives on, works and eats from

The stand opens when the first asparagus is cut and closes after the last pumpkin goes home. In between there are tomatoes by the crate, sweet corn picked the same morning, eggs from hens that wander, and whatever the orchard is giving that week.

Nothing here is grown for a distributor. It is grown for the people who pull into the lane, which is why the varieties are chosen for flavor rather than shelf life and why you can always ask exactly how something was raised.
