What's in season
What the farm gives, month by month
A rough guide. The weather moves everything by a week or two, and the stand page says what is actually on the table today.
| Month | What is coming in |
|---|---|
| January | Storage squash, onions, potatoes, eggs, preserves |
| February | Storage crops, eggs, honey; seed orders go in |
| March | Greenhouse greens, eggs; the hens go back out |
| April | Asparagus, rhubarb, spring onions, radishes |
| May | Salad greens, spinach, peas, strawberries at the end of the month |
| June | Strawberries, peas, new potatoes, garlic scapes, first boxes |
| July | Blueberries, cucumbers, zucchini, first tomatoes, sweet corn |
| August | Tomatoes, corn, peppers, melons, beans, plums |
| September | Apples, pears, tomatoes, winter squash, grapes |
| October | Apples, pumpkins, squash, kale, hayrides and the maze |
| November | Storage crops, late apples, eggs, preserves |
| December | Storage crops, eggs, honey, wreaths from the farm |
We sell what grows here, when it grows here
There are no tomatoes at this stand in April and no strawberries in October. Selling out of season would mean buying from a warehouse and putting it on a table that says it was picked this morning, and we will not do that.
What you get instead is the best week of every crop, and a reason to come back next month for whatever is next.
Best of each
- Strawberries: the first two weeks of June
- Sweet corn: late July into August
- Tomatoes: mid August to mid September
- Apples: the last week of September
- Pumpkins: the first three weekends of October
